Capcom,
Inc. (Capital
Communications) is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization founded in 1980
by Richard F. Rosen, Ph.D. Capcom, Inc.'s non-profit mission is as strong
today as it was two decades ago:
To
facilitate communications, encourage employment, and access grants for
people with disabilities.
Capcom, Inc. pioneered
the advent of the TDD system which was
a precursor to the AT&T, MCI, state and national networks of TDD relay now
supported by the general public under the ADA. Shifting its focus in the last
few years, Capcom has received outside grants, largely for local programs,
interpreter support for the hearing impaired, and technological development
upgrades. Capcom, Inc.'s goal is to seek grants that will underwrite the distribution
of free assistive devices and trained animals to support people with disabilities.
These monies will also enable the organization to develop workshops to empower
people with disabilities and assist them in receiving employment opportunities.
In
addition, Capcom, Inc. also welcomes tax-deductible
contributions and grants to enable individuals with disabilities to gain computer
access to all segments of their community. We welcome inquiries from communities,
businesses, foundations and others who embrace our vision.
