Sign Language USA

Sign Language USA was established in 1996 by Dr. Richard F. Rosen, a former Gallaudet professor who promoted passage of the Americans With Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA). He also directed and founded a free message relay support service for deaf and hard-of-hearing persons and a sign language interpreter service, CAPCOM, from 1984 - 1996. Dr. Rosen is an attorney and member of the Texas, Pennsylvania, Virginia, District of Columbia, Wyoming and Brussels (Belgium) Bars. He has consulted on ADA matters and advocated full employment for persons with disabilities in the United States Workforce. Sign Language USA is proud to be part of the national effort to improve the working status and access for persons with disabilities. We offer workshops, consultin and training for employers concerned with disability issues and the Americans With Disabilities Act of 1990.
The
Mission of disability-world.com and Sign Language USA is to empower people with disabilities to
take charge of their lives. This means eliminating barriers and promoting
access to all activities in their daily lives. The ADA (Americans with Disabilities
Act) enacted in 1990 has done much to eliminate employment barriers. But much
work has yet to be done to remove the emotional and attitudinal barriers that
people encounter in their daily activities. Often there is a lack of understanding
the inherent barrier, or how easy it would be to accommodate their needs and
eliminate any barriers.
